Freight Delivery in UK A leading computer manufacturer, one of the largest manufacturers of computer hardware in the world, has contracted Tech Cargo to arrange their End of Lease returns from the whole of Europe and South Africa. This involves utilising our Specialist European Network of agents to receive, notify and store the consignments. Each country has one receiving point.
Tech Cargo receives a pre advice of the lease return from the client Tech Cargo notifies the relevant agent of the return. The returning customer notifies our client of his intention to return and then decides to return the goods himself, or alternatively requests that our client arranges with us to collect the consignment. This can involve collecting both packed and unpacked items. Goods arrive at the in-country warehouse. Our client is notified of arrival. Our client arranges engineers to audit equipment at the warehouse. Tech Cargo sorts goods into those for refurbishment and those for recycling. Tech Cargo repacks the goods. Tech Cargo delivers the goods to our client in The Netherlands. We have also carried out a contract to deliver new postal scanning machines to every British Embassy in the world, a total of 150 sites worldwide. The system used was as follows:
Supplier would send notification to Tech Cargo details of unit to be dispatched. Tech Cargo would enter the machines serial number and destination details on to a daily update sheet. The British Embassy was contacted by Tech Cargo and their delivery requirements were requested. Tech Cargo would notify supplier of requirements. As the goods were being used for diplomatic purposes they would often require exemption certificates to be raised with the local authorities. Tech Cargo would arrange for these certificates using their local agents. The local agent would advise when all paperwork in order and the Embassy ready to receive. Tech Cargo would make a booking with the airline. As the equipment was 180cm high, there was main deck capacity only. Due to the height of the case the consignment is too tall for X-ray and therefore Tech Cargo arrange decompression of the cargo for security. Cargo delivered to Airline Full pre alert sent to Supplier, agent & British Embassy. Cargo dispatched Cargo arrives local airport. Agent contacts local embassy and arranges clearance. Agent schedules delivery with Embassy. Some of the deliveries were a straight forward drop off in the case, but more often that not involved(as these were office environments) the unpacking and positioning of the machines. Up and down stairs as well as areas with restricted access for vehicles.
